We boast industry-leading safety metrics. And it’s no accident. We’ve created a culture centered around keeping people and property safe. Our team members are proud to call themselves the safest builders in the industry. Maintaining these high standards involves constant planning, training, auditing, engaging and empowering our team members.

Our approach

We designed the Roncelli Safety Program with the guiding belief that every team member deserves to return home at the end of the day without incident or injury. Every accident is avoidable, and to make sure it stays that way, we take the following approach:

Plan

Great planning leads to safe execution. We develop general and site-specific safety plans, begin each workday with a planning meeting, make task-specific plans, and end each day with a debrief. We insist that our trade partners stick to the plan.

TRAIN

Our team members are trained in OSHA 30 and 500; common hazards, such as fire, electrical, falls and confined space; CPR; risk mitigation and more. We also train our trade partners; every person on a project site receives our safety training.

AUDIT

We know our safety program works because we audit it. Every project receives weekly safety audits and surprise inspections. Safety metrics are required on a monthly basis at least and accidents are reported to the top. There’s no hiding data, and we watch it closely.

ENGAGE

Safety is our priority, and team members who are engaged are more likely to be committed to it. That’s why we measure engagement, are constantly improving it, recognize safe behavior and work hard to develop team members who are committed to keeping themselves and others safe.

EMPOWER

Every Roncelli team member is empowered and expected to stop unsafe behavior the moment they see it. There’s no waiting on bosses and no passing the buck. Our team members are empowered to keep each other safe.
