At Roncelli, we believe that a diverse and inclusive supply chain is essential for fostering innovation, expanding opportunities, and driving sustainable growth in the communities we serve. Our Supplier Diversity Program has been carefully crafted to ensure that businesses owned by minorities, women, veterans, LGBTQ+, and disabled individuals have equitable access to the opportunities we offer. “By working with diverse suppliers, we build a more dynamic and competitive environment that shows our commitment to inclusion and equality. This improves our projects and strengthens local economies.” – Ehrlich Crain, Director, Business Development and DE&I Officer
One of the cornerstones of our approach is outreach and engagement. We are proactive in seeking partnerships with certified diverse suppliers, participating in industry events, trade shows, and expos. Recently, members of the Roncelli team attended the Demand Detroit Supplier Expo, an event that provided underrepresented businesses with a platform to showcase their capabilities and connect with key industry leaders. Through such engagements, we ensure that diverse suppliers have direct access to opportunities that may otherwise remain out of reach.
However, our commitment to supplier diversity goes beyond engagement. We believe in capacity building and supporting the growth of small and diverse businesses. To that end, we offer mentorship, technical assistance, and training to help these businesses enhance their skills and compete at the highest level. A prime example of this is our long-standing mentorship with CAVU, a service-disabled veteran-owned business. Through this partnership, we’ve completed over $250 million in work together, providing CAVU with hands-on experience in financial management, project management, estimating, business development, and exposure to our processes, procedures, and systems. This comprehensive support has helped CAVU grow, reinforcing our belief that by investing in the success of diverse suppliers, we are contributing to the overall success of the construction industry.
Collaboration and partnership are at the heart of our supplier diversity efforts. Whether working with local subcontractors on projects like the Fish Creek Solar Park or engaging with trade partners across various sectors, we are committed to building long-lasting relationships with diverse businesses. Our utilization of diverse subcontractors and suppliers is extensive, but our efforts don’t stop there. Roncelli has also formed joint ventures with diverse construction firms across all market sectors. These partnerships allow us to not only meet but often exceed our own diversity goals and those of our clients. In several of these joint ventures, Roncelli has played a minority role, while the diverse partner has taken the majority role, exceeding 50% ownership. These ventures offer additional opportunities for mentorship, with our partners gaining valuable exposure to our processes and procedures, fostering growth and mutual success.
As we celebrate Construction Inclusion Week, Roncelli proudly reaffirms its commitment to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion within our supply chain. Diversity is more than just a goal—it’s a strategic advantage that drives innovation and creates opportunities for all!
