Roncelli was hired by Detroit Wayne Integrated Health Network (DWIHN) to transform their 707 Milwaukee building into a Clinical Care Center in which adults and adolescents that need short term crisis intervention get the help they need and get connected to services and support. The renovation and building addition will add 39 beds to DWIHN’s Crisis Continuum and will be a 24-hour Clinical Care Center, the first of it’s kind in Wayne County.
The building was fully gutted for the renovation, major MEP upgrades throughout the building and various site work to the exterior were performed. A new entrance was constructed for patients to enter from the street and a new secure parking lot for staff and patients was included in the the scope of the project. Roncelli also installed security grade windows to the 1st and 2nd floor perimeter of the building for safety and anonymity of patients and staff.
The interior of the building is comprised of 16 new restrooms, 12 crisis stabilization units/patient rooms, 15 crisis rehabilitation rooms, 6 sober living bedrooms for overnight occupancy, a counseling room, 3 nurses’ stations, a kitchenette with food prep area, and pharmacy. The improved space includes a common area for adults and a children’s area, a new scrutiny office, a laundry room and linen storage and a group therapy auditorium.
