As construction manager, Roncelli, Inc. was selected to oversee the construction of a new medical office building (MOB) for Beaumont Health in Lenox Township, Mich. The MOB consists of an ambulatory care center (ACC), which serves as a multi-functional, multi-use healthcare destination for the Lenox community and Macomb County as a whole.
With three levels, the outpatient healthcare facility includes the following:
The structure also includes universal and support space. The balance of the spaces is to be shelled out for future tenant construction.
One of the key highlights of the MOB is a medical linear accelerator (LINAC) vault, consisting of thick concrete walls and a 2.5-foot-thick door weighing 23,000 pounds and lined with lead. The LINAC is a pin-point radiation delivery system for cancer treatment; the concrete vault ensures safe equipment operation.
The new-build project consisted of site work, underground utility tie-ins, foundations, structural steel erection, siding, masonry, roofing, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) infrastructure and interior fit out of the space. Interior work consisted of carpentry, doors, frames and hardware, glazing, drywall, hard tile, flooring, painting, finishes and more.
Construction began in in late September 2019 and finished in early August 2021.
