Summary

SkipperBud’s new Cass Lake Marina is built on the site where a marina was first established in the 1950s. After years of use, the marina needed a facelift, and Skipper Bud’s engaged Roncelli, Inc. to help bring their vision to life.

Preconstruction started in May 2018 and in June, Roncelli began construction on the new marina facility. Scope of work for the marina included a dry storage building with integral boat racks, boat maintenance, and repair facility, a two-story sales facility, and a marine parts and accessories department. The marina has all-new boat docks and seawalls with a brand-new gas dock and gas dispensers.

The overhaul of the site included a new infrastructure for parking, utilities, and storm water management. The marina campus is not the only state of the art, but it is also environmentally friendly. Bio-swales and rain gardens were built into the landscape design to help capture and filter storm water as opposed to running directly to the lake. The storm sewer system includes a water quality management structure that prevents sediments from entering the lakes. The boat wash down area is complete with a holding tank. The Marina has applied for the Michigan Clean Marina Status.

Roncelli successfully completed construction in time for the Marina’s Grand Opening on August 23, 2019.
