Summary

Roncelli was selected for Bedrock’s The Belle building renovation located on Broadway St in Detroit’s Paradise Valley district to provide comprehensive project construction services and oversight for reconstruction of the building’s historic façade and interior spaces. The long-neglected building, formerly called Harvard Square, was originally constructed in the beaux arts and neoclassical style in 1926 and designed by architect George D. Mason & Company.

The mixed retail / residential renovation consists of façade restoration, 8,000 sf of commercial space on Level 1 with a mezzanine, and a 42-unit residential build-out on Levels 2 through 10 that will offer a mix of studio, one and two-bedroom units. The project also includes window replacement, life safety equipment, all major mechanical, plumbing and electrical systems replacement, interior buildouts and remediation of lead and asbestos.

Construction started in September 2024 and is scheduled to be completed in 2026.
