11,000 SF
Beaumont Health selected Roncelli, Inc. to construct a new inpatient pharmacy. After six months of construction, the Roncelli project team completed the inpatient pharmacy at Beaumont Hospital in Troy. The 11,000-square-foot pharmacy is a state-of-the-art medical dispensary facility.
Roncelli began by turning an existing core and shell space, located on the ground floor of the hospital, into three clean rooms. All the clean rooms were provided with 100% outside air. A new air handling unit was installed as well as an exterior air intake “chimney” constructed to give continuous outside air to the unit. Each clean room had its own dedicated exhaust fan, making sure that the air supplied to the room is 100% exhausted.
As part of the new equipment installed in the pharmacy, there were three new Omnicell carousels installed. The scope of work included new pharmacy administration offices, a conference room, a break room and a new security system. Due to the sensitive nature of drug storage, all entrances into the pharmacy use fingerprint detection to gain entry. Bullet-resistant doors and glazing were also installed at the entries adjacent to the carousels.
The project was deemed highly successful, with Roncelli delivering a cost-effective, fully functional pharmacy to Beaumont Health.
