Roncelli completed the new facility which sits on 10.5 acres of property on Metropolitan Parkway between Mound Road and Van Dyke Avenue in Sterling Heights. The building functions as a state-of-the-art custom center applying spray on bed liners, body side moldings, graphics and tonneau cover installation for new FCA truck models. The 128,000 square foot building has four integral truck docks, 6,200 square feet of office space, locker and break rooms, a 6,000 square foot mezzanine for parts and storage and seven spray booths for the application of the bed liner materials.

The new building is a pre-engineered steel structure on drilled pier foundations featuring wide open, high bays with exposed structural steel. Roncelli’s self-perform Group (SPG) supported the excavation, provided cast-in-place concrete grade beam foundations, and interior slabs and exterior concrete site pavement for the building, providing the project with greater schedule certainty.

The building exterior is composed of prefinished metal siding with masonry veneer on the Metropolitan Parkway elevation. The roof is Nucor’s CRF standing seam galvalume metal with skylight panels and pre-finished metal gutters and downspouts. The facility site includes over 115 paved parking spaces and access/egress truck maneuvering lanes.

The office interior finishes are comprised of carpet, hard tile, and polished concrete flooring along with painted gypsum walls and suspended acoustical ceilings. The modern office area houses the facilities operations and management staff. A large break room also serves as a meeting room and informational area.
